People from all walks of life need to be saved from Legionella bacteria which cause the Legionnaires disease. You may be a working professional whose job it is to ensure that the water system is free of this harmful, dangerous bacterium, or you may own premises which have water systems installed. Irrespective of your job, a Legionnaires thermometer is essential for you. Thermometers Direct has promised to help its customers find some of the best Legionella thermometers in the industry. A Legionella thermometer allows you to gauge the temperature of various water and air bodies and surfaces of tanks and pipes. Once you know the temperature, you can next try to come up with a strategy to prevent bacteria from surviving in the water. You may also need a Legionella thermometer to detect the temperature of pipe and tank surfaces to see if they are optimum for breeding of this bacterium. A situation might arise that requires you to measure the temperature of air in a cooling or ventilation system in order to keep it at a constant temperature to save people from legionella. You also need a Legionella thermometer for keeping the water sterile and safe.

All of our waterproof thermometers are proven to stay damage-free for long periods of time. The waterproof setting allows the thermometer to be used any way you want without worrying about damaging the device. Waterproof thermometers are the best for measuring temperatures of water and other items containing it. Thermometers Direct offers value for your money and provides a great experience.

Legionnaires thermometers are important because they help us prevent this disease caused by Legionella bacteria. This severe form of pneumonia and lung inflammation is caused when one gets infected from the Legionella bacteria. The disease can be caught from inhalation of the water droplets infected with the bacteria. This disease can affect anyone but the people most prone to this disease are old people in their 50s. People with weaker immune systems due to other illnesses are also susceptible to the disease. The bacteria are also found in natural water sources besides being present in humid air. Ponds, rivers, and water systems of hot and cold water systems for buildings may also be contaminated.

Legionella control is about the bacteria that live in temperatures between 20°C and 45°C and can also survive in their dormant forms below these temperatures. The bacteria can be eliminated by maintaining a constant hot temperature in the water system. Temperatures above 50°C for water distribution systems and above 60°C for water heaters are optimum for wiping out the bacteria and prevent them from causing harm. These bacteria further multiply and grow if some nutrient such as rust, scale, algae or sludge is present in the water.

These Legionella Thermometer Kits provided by Thermometers Direct are the most comprehensive range available out there. We also provide cost effective solutions to your Legionnaires thermometer needs. You can buy entry level kits and even accurate, reliable professional level kits from us.

But people ask us, why they should buy a Legionella thermometer. The answer is that the bacteria can be fatal. In order to prevent it from causing serious damage to the life and health of someone you love, you must buy a Legionella thermometer kit. The Legionella thermometers we sell are specifically designed for testing the water for these bacteria. To make sure that the Legionella bacteria have died, you need to check water temperatures in water systems of various buildings. Hot and cold water services need to be checked and the water that comes in the taps and showers needs to be tested too. Apart from this, industrial water systems are to be regularly checked for bacteria which can cause legionnaires disease. This includes testing pumps, heat exchangers, and pressure washers for this deadly strain of bacterium.

Since the disease can also be air borne, testing the air temperature in regions such as cooling towers can be very beneficial. These systems are notorious for containing and spreading the Legionella bacteria over great distances.

Each Legionella kit comes with various probes to assist you in checking the temperature expansively and in a comprehensive manner. These kits are there to help you save yourself from the disease and the bacteria which cause it. Incorrect temperature of water can expose you to the risk of these bacteria. We at Thermometers Direct strive to provide accurate devices which give reliable readings and measurements.

These Legionella thermometers can also allow you to test the water temperature and the surfaces of pipes and tanks that carry the water and are part of the water system. The method of measuring the temperature of the water has to be known in order to effectively make use of the Legionella thermometer. The immersion probe of the Legionella thermometer kit has to be immersed in water up to a minimum depth of twenty five millimetres. There also may be a ribbon surface probe that allows you to take temperatures of surfaces of tanks and water pipes. The wire probe in the Legionella testing kit can be used to reach places which other probes do not or where other probes are not appropriate to use. Some kits come with a traceable certificate of calibration.

The current laws and regulations say that if you are the employer or the manager of a premises, a risk assessment must be organised by you to make sure the water is free of legionella bacteria. The government’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has issued a revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) which allows it to guide people on legionella bacteria and what responsibilities they have pertaining to the control of these lethal bacteria. These rules and regulations are now applicable to all hot and cold water systems in the workplace irrespective of their capacity. Previously, a lower limit of 300 litres used to exclude domestic water systems but it doesn’t apply anymore.

The code now applies to all hot and cold water systems in the workplace regardless of their capacity, i.e. the lower limit of 300 litres which previously used to exclude domestic systems no longer applies. All managers of sites or premises are legally bound to report any contamination and to help in prevention and containment of the disease.

Ordered this Thermometer to replace my previous one which I lost. (a gift to Neptune?). To take the sea temp when I swim. So far so good! and the scale is easier to read whilst treading water.
